What is CrisisCentreChat.ca?
CrisisCentreChat.ca offers an online chat service for adults 25+ – where people can chat one-on-one with trained volunteers. This chat service offers free, confidential, non-judgmental support to individuals in emotional distress – from noon-1am daily.
This website offers information and resources related to mental health issues and suicide, and a list of community organizations and websites where you can get help.
Who is CrisisCentreChat.ca for?
It’s for adults (25 +) living in British Columbia who need a safe, respectful place to chat without being judged and access support and information.
It’s also for caregivers and/or professionals who are looking for topic-specific information and resources for various mental health related issues.
What can I chat about?
Anything you need to! People chat about lots of different issues: suicide; mental illness and stress; physical health, work; relationship conflicts; parenting, caregiving, and other family issues.
How do I chat?
If it’s during our hours (that’s noon to 1 am Pacific Time), the large button in the centre of the homepage will say “CHAT NOW”. Click that to go to our “Pre-Chat Survey”; then hit the “Submit” button at the bottom to request a chat.
If it says “OFFLINE”, we’re closed for the moment.
